About
Bringing the Word, Building the Faith, Sharing the Love
Welcome to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Warman, Saskatchewan!
At St. John’s, we believe that the good news of Jesus Christ is at the heart of everything we do. We are a Christian congregation rooted in God’s Word, gathered around His gifts of forgiveness and salvation, and called to share His love with our neighbours and the world.
Our mission is simple:
- Bring the Word — Share the good news of Jesus Christ with those who do not yet know Him as their Saviour.
- Build the Faith — Grow together in the knowledge of God’s Word and the comfort of His promises.
- Share the Love — Reflect the love of Christ through acts of mercy, service, and care for our community and the world.
Whether you are exploring Christianity, looking for a church home, or seeking to grow in your faith, you are welcome to join us as we hear God’s Word and receive His gifts.
What We Believe
God speaks to us through His Word.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation of our faith and teaching. Through Scripture, God reveals who He is, who we are, and what He has done to save us through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is our Saviour.
We believe in the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, true God and true man, came into the world to save sinners. Through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, He has accomplished our salvation and gives us the promise of eternal life.
Salvation is God’s gift of grace.
We cannot earn God’s forgiveness or make ourselves right with Him through our own efforts. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. In Him, we find forgiveness for our sins, peace with God, and the hope of everlasting life.
Faith shapes how we live.
We gather to receive God’s gifts, grow in faith, and encourage one another in Christian living. Our good works do not earn our salvation; rather, they are the fruits of faith and expressions of gratitude for God’s mercy toward us.
Our Lutheran Heritage
St. John’s is a member congregation of Lutheran Church–Canada. We stand within the historic Christian faith as confessed in the Lutheran Reformation and expressed in the Lutheran confessions collected in the Book of Concord.
Our Lutheran heritage emphasizes the authority of Scripture, the seriousness of sin, the gracious forgiveness of God, and the comfort of the Gospel: Jesus Christ has died and risen for us. We do not place our hope in our own goodness, but in Christ and His promises.
Through Word and Sacrament, God continues to serve His people, strengthen faith, and assure us of His grace.
Growing Together in Faith
The Christian life is one of continual learning, repentance, forgiveness, and growth in God’s promises. At St. John’s, we value opportunities for people of all ages to hear the Scriptures, learn the Christian faith, worship together, and encourage one another.
Through worship, Bible study, Sunday School, youth activities, and congregational life, we seek to grow together in the knowledge of Christ and the joy of His salvation.
Serving Our Community
God’s love is not meant to remain within the walls of the church. We seek to share that love with our neighbours in Warman and beyond through compassion, service, and care for those around us.
We recognize that our community includes people from many different backgrounds and circumstances. We desire to be a congregation where people can encounter the message of Jesus Christ and experience the care of a Christian community.
Come and Join Us
You do not need to have everything figured out to visit a church. Whether you have been a Christian for many years, are returning to church, or simply have questions about faith, we invite you to come and hear the good news of Jesus Christ with us.
